membership-certificate
ADADA issues a Certificate of Membership to personal members through myADADA. Each certificate carries a certificate number and a QR code linking to a verification page, so that anyone who receives a certificate can confirm that it was issued by ADADA.
What the certificate confirms
- The holder is registered as a personal member of ADADA, with the membership grade shown, as of the date of issue.
- It does not certify academic qualifications, degrees, peer review, or an endorsement by ADADA. Personal membership is free of charge and open to anyone who registers in myADADA.
How certificates are issued
A certificate can be issued in myADADA only when the member
- has been registered for at least 30 days,
- has connected an ORCID iD by signing in to ORCID, and
- uses a profile name that matches the name on their ORCID record.
- has an ORCID record that was created at least 6 months earlier, or that includes an item added by a trusted organization (for example, a publication added by Crossref through the publisher, or an affiliation added by the member’s institution).
If the name, membership grade, member ID or ORCID iD changes, a new certificate is issued and the previous one is no longer valid.
How to verify a certificate
- Scan the QR code on the certificate, or enter the URL printed after “Verify this certificate”.
- Make sure the page is on https://myadada.adada.info/. ADADA does not use any other address for certificate verification.
- Check the status, and compare the certificate number, name, membership grade, member ID and date of issue with the certificate. If any detail differs, the certificate has been altered.
- You can also open the ORCID iD shown on the verification page to view the holder’s ORCID record.
Status
- Valid: issued by ADADA; the holder is a current member.
- No longer current: replaced by a newer certificate after the member’s details changed.
- Revoked: revoked by ADADA.
- Not a current member: issued by ADADA, but the holder is no longer registered.
If no certificate is found, the details do not match, or you have any concerns, please contact the ADADA International Office through the Contact Form, with the certificate number.
