WELCOME

Management & Science University is pleased to submit this proposal to organise the 17th International Conference of Asia Digital Art and Design (ADADA2019) in Management & Science University (MSU), Malaysia. ADADA 2019 event conference agenda will include 2 days conference program, the banquette dinner with cultural show and 1-day Putrajaya city tour program as one package called ADADA2019 Green Cities. It is called Green Cities to represent three Cities (Shah Alam & Kuala Lumpur as Garden City of Lights) and Putrajaya (as Garden City of Intelligent) so that all the Committee members and participants could enjoy the captivating architecture and picturesque landscapes of Putrajaya. The participants can also visit the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur while touring the capital city of Selangor, Shah Alam during the conferences. The Green Cities theme is also in line with MSU initiative towards achieving United Nations Sustainable Goals focusing on Sustainable Cities and Communities.

We cordially invite you to submit a paper to the upcoming 2019 the 17th International Conference of Asia Digital Art and Design (ADADA2019), to be held from 26th -27th November 2019 in Management & Science University, Selangor, Malaysia.
The International Conference of ADADA is one of the major conferences about art and design associated with digital technologies. It aims at bringing together researchers, designers, artists and students to present their novel works, to exchange innovative ideas and to discuss the future of digital art and design in Asia.
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work, as well as, art papers, demos and posters on all topics in the general areas of art and design associated with digital technologies. All papers should be submitted in the ADADA format;

Simultaneous submission to other publication venues is not permitted. The categories for submission are the following:

Technical Papers: 2-6 pages

Art Papers: 2-6 pages

Demos: 1-2 pages

Posters: 1-2 pages

Paper length must match the size of the contribution listed in the Categories for Submission above. Papers will be subjected to a single-blind peer review by experts. The committee will select papers of exceptional quality for awards. Furthermore, the authors of the selected papers from the conference will be invited to prepare an extended version of their paper to be considered for publishing in ADADA International Journals (ADADA Journal).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE

ADADA 2019 invites papers describing original contributions in all fields of art and design associated with digital technologies and related research areas. All submissions should be in English. For every accepted submission, it is required that at least one author will attend the conference to present the work. Research topics of interest for ADADA 2019 include, but are not limited to:

How to Submit

Online submission due: 23:59 pm July 24th, 2019 (JST). All submissions must be conducted with our online submission system. We would not accept submissions via e-mail or postal mail. Please submit a PDF proceeding written in only English.

Submission and review of papers for ADADA 2019 will be managed through an online conference paper management system called "EasyChair". You will need an EasyChair account to be able to submit your paper.

The program committee will review all submissions carefully and select papers of exceptional quality for an award from all categories. Furthermore, the authors of the selected technical papers and art papers from the conference will be invited to prepare an extended version of their paper to be considered for publishing in ADADA International Journals (ADADA Journal).

Tehnical Paper

Technical Papers are a conventional academic papers. The authors are requested to give their oral presentations at the conference. Any topics about digital art/design fields ranging from technical research to cultural matters can be accepted. Artistic projects are encouraged to submit as Art Papers. In any case, your presentation should mention both aesthetic aspects and technical aspects of your project. Also, a process of the project should be explained logically, and your contribution to digital art/design field must be clarified. Regardless of your topic, you must describe your project in a scholarly manner. If your research could be an interactive system, we strongly recommend you to submit your system to not only papers but also demos.

Art Paper

Art Papers are more artistically-oriented papers than Technical Papers. You can present any type of artwork, as long as digital technologies are used in it. If you produced a cutting-edge digital art such as a computer animation and an interactive art, Art Papers would be a great showcase at an oral presentation. You can share your ideas between hundreds of artists and researchers, and it may evoke a synergistic effect in the Asian digital art community. You should describe an artistic motivation, a background of your artwork, and how digital technologies are involved in your work, and so on. If your research could be an interactive system, we strongly recommend you to submit your system to not only papers but also demos.

Poster

Poster submission provides a venue for authors to present work in progress reports. The Poster presentation also provides you with further discussion from experts. We believe this opportunity will be a great help to advance your work.

Demos

Demo submission offers a space for displaying artworks, technical demos and any other demonstrations which include interactive arts and systems. If you have interactive systems for demonstration, we strongly recommend you to submit your systems to not only papers but also demos. ADADA2019 Demos you will have a space and a table for your work, but you are responsible for bringing and setting up most of any other equipment that is required for presenting your work except for electric power.

Location

The conference will be held in Management & Science University in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia and takes place in Performance Art Theater & Academic Tower. MSU is conveniently located at the main entry point of Shah Alam's educational hub easily accesible to many public transports. Various accomodations and local foods shops & restaurants including AEON shopping mall located within walking distance.

Management & Science University (MSU)

MSU is modern high rise building university located in the heart of Shah Alam, Selangor. It is one of Malaysia’s top universities, with a focus on developing and delivering quality human capital in national and global critical-need areas. MSU has been accorded ‘Excellent Status University’ twice on the national university-rating system, and named the ‘Most Entrepreneurial Private University’ by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. Shah Alam – Garden City of Light

MSU is strategically located in section 13, Shah Alam and is well connected to other main cities in Klang Valley via a network of major highways. Shah Alam is a city and the state capital of Selangor, Malaysia and Putrajaya, the administrative city of Malaysia is located 40 km away while Kuala Lumpur commonly known as KL, is the national capital and largest city in Malaysia is located 25 km away. Both popular destinations are easily accesible by public transit from Shah Alam.

Arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA):

There are 5 ways to get from KLIA to MSU by bus, train, taxi or car (ride-hailing).
For international guests: Travelling from airport to MSU with public transit is easy. In this airport you have the direct connection to the KLIA Express.
Option 1 KLIA/KLIA2 to KL Sentral to Batu 3 Komuter Station to MSU

KLIA Express. The KLIA Ekspres ERL train service is a non-stop airport transfer that takes you from KLIA/KLIA2 to KL Sentral in just 33 minutes. It cost RM55 (USD$14). From KL Sentral, you can take KTM commuter to Batu 3 Station then finally you can take taxi/car hailing service to MSU. Total travelling hour is about 2 hrs.

Option 2 KLIA/KLIA2 to MSU

Via Taxi / Car hailing service will take about 40 – 60 minutes travelling time from KLIA/KLIA2 to MSU

Recommended Accomodation

According to your personal preferences, there are hotels, hostels or private guesthouses or B&Bs to be found easily by any online hotel search engine. For your convenience, you can also stay at MSU Residence which located within walking distance to the conference. In addition, there are few 4 stars hotels/guesthouse next to the conference location providing cozy atmosphere for your stay in Shah Alam.

Putrajaya – Garden City of Intelligence

Putrajaya is a city in Malaysia, south of Kuala Lumpur. It’s known for its late-20th-century architecture including the Putra Mosque, made from rose-colored granite with a pink dome. Nearby is the immense, green-domed Perdana Putra, which contains the prime minister’s office complex. The 3-tiered Putra Bridge is inspired by Iranian architecture, with 4 minaret-type piers overlooking the man-made Putrajaya Lake.Alam.

As Malaysia’s administrative capital, Putrajaya has positioned itself as a tourist destination with its captivating architecture and picturesque landscapes. Its expansive and well maintained attractions are a pull factor for tourists. In fact, Putrajaya has also become a popular location for film producers to shoot movies. Designed as a city in a garden, Putrajaya is a place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. It is located about 40 minutes from MSU. The tour will take around 4 to 5 hours of sightseeing and stop at selected attraction point and tourist point. There will be 7 sightseeing stop in interesting places and tourist point in Putrajaya, tourist can have a photo session at own leisure and free and easy tour.


A visit to Putrajaya will not be complete without stopping at the flower garden in Presint 4. Here, visitors will be able to see the permanent gardens of the flower show Royal Floria Putrajaya. There are many photo opportunities at the China-Malaysia Friendship Garden, Fantasy Garden and English Garden.

If the participants opt to stay longer, they could also visit other nearby attraction such as i-City Shah Alam or KLCC in Kuala Lumpur.

KLCC

The dynamic Kuala Lumpur, aptly nicknamed the Garden City of Lights, is the capital state of Malaysia and the premier metropolis of the country. The heart of the city is home to two of the most iconic landmarks of the country, the Kuala Lumpur Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers – both of which are regarded as some of the tallest buildings in the world (simply known as KLCC). Many tourists flock to revel in the amazing feats of engineering that is the above mentioned two towering structures at the very first chance they get. Described by its developers as ‘A City Within A City’, KLCC offers a myriad of interesting attractions that never cease to wonder, as well as plenty of nightlife, dining and shopping options.
